  1. Who is allowed to register an account and use the MyMotorNumber portal?

  2. The following are the categories of individuals/businesses/companies that are allowed to register an account on the MyMotorNumber Portal:

    1. Individuals: Citizens and permanent residents of Malaysia aged 18 years and above.
    2. Business/Company: Registered business/company.
    3. Organizations, cooperatives and professional bodies: only those who have records in the MySIKAP System.
    4. Government agencies/ Local authorities/ Statutory bodies/ United Nations/ Embassies/ High Commissioner’s office/ International organizations/ Regional Offices: only those who have records in the MySIKAP System.
    5. Non-citizens: only those who have a record in the MySIKAP System. If the passport has expired, passport owners need to renew it at any State office and JPJ branch except UTC.
  3. What are the requirements to register an account and use the MyMotorNumber portal?

  4. Eligible individuals/businesses/companies/non-citizens/organizations/co-operatives/professional bodies/government agencies/local authorities/statutory bodies/United Nations/embassy/High Commissioner offices/International organizations/Regional offices must have records or transactions in the mySIKAP System.

  5. How do I get an ID to enable me to register an account and use the MyMotorNumber portal?

  6. Eligible Individuals/Businesses/Companies that do not have records or transactions in the mySIKAP System must register at any state office and JPJ branch (except UTC) first. Please submit a copy of your identification document according to your category:

    1. Individual: A copy of identity card/birth certificate/temporary identification receipt that is still valid
    2. Sole proprietorship or partnership:
      1. A copy of the business registration certificate - Form D (company name, information and owner information); or
      2. A copy of the business license (Sabah and Sarawak only)
      3. Company representative’s letter if the company’s representative is present for registration.
    3. Sdn Bhd company:
      1. A copy of Form 9 or Form 13 and Form 49 or Section 58 Form.
      2. Company representative’s letter if the company’s representative is present for registration.

    * Please make sure you have received a confirmation email from the MyMotorNumber System before accessing the MyMotorNumber Portal. You are also advised to use an active email account and an inbox that is ready to receive any notifications.

    * A confirmation link will be sent to the user’s email and must be confirmed within 24 hours before the MyMotorNumber account is activated.

    Non-citizens/ Organizations/ Cooperatives/ Professional bodies/ Government agencies/ Local authorities/ Statutory bodies/ United Nations/ Embassies/ High Commissioner offices/ International organizations/ Regional Offices that do NOT have a record are NOT allowed to register an account with MyMotorNumber.

  7. What type of email is appropriate to use when registering an account on the MyMotorNumber portal?

  8. You are advised to use active Yahoo and Gmail e-mails to receive notifications from the MyMotorNumber System.

  9. What about the security of user information if the registration has existed without the knowledge of the user who wants to register?

  10. The security of user information registered on the MyMotorNumber portal is the responsibility of the user himself. In case of registration without knowledge, it is recommended that the user make a police report and email a copy to us for further action.

  11. What if there is a change in personal details after registration is done on the MyMotorNumber portal?

  12. You can only change your phone number in the MyMotorNumber portal. To change other personal information, please go to the state offices and JPJ branches (except UTC).

  13. What is the appropriate browser to use the MyMotorNumber portal on?

  14. You are advised to use the browser Chrome Version 73, Internet Explorer 11, Android Version 6 or IOS 10 and above for a better display.

  15. What should be done if access during the bidding process is often interrupted and does not run smoothly?

  16. You are advised to use a computer/laptop with a stable internet network.

  17. What are the fees and charges for bidding transactions?

  18. RM 10.00 will be charged as a service charge for each number you bid. The fee is government revenue and will not be refunded.

  19. How long is the bidding period for one (1) series of vehicle numbers?

  20. The bidding period for one (1) series of vehicle registration numbers lasts for 5 days and ends at 22:00 on the fifth (5th) day. However, the government can set or change the bidding period according to current requirements. Bidders can refer to the bid advertisements issued by JPJ.

    Bid time is taken into account throughout the bidding period and not at the time of bid confirmation by the bank. Only successful transactions and completed payment within the bidding period will be accepted as valid bids.

    * You are encouraged to bid early for a smooth process. Avoid last-minute bidding activities to avoid payment interruptions.

  21. Are bidders required to place a deposit?

  22. No deposit is required but bidders must pay the minimum price or more than the minimum price for each vehicle number category that they are bidding for the first time.

  23. How is the bid price calculated?

  24. Each vehicle number requires a minimum payment according to the table below:

    1. Each first bid amount must be equal to or exceed the minimum price set by category.
    2. The minimum bid increase (top-up) is according to the number category with no limit for the maximum increase:
      1. 5% increase from the minimum price on the first day until 10 minutes before the bidding ends.
      2. 10% increase from the minimum price at 10 minutes before the end of bidding.

    Current Bid Price + Minimum Price Increase = Minimum Bid Total

    The increase in the minimum amount is displayed on the bid page for reference. All transactions during the bidding will be made using the pre-authorization method.

  25. What is the limit for bidding?

  26. There is no limit for bidding. However, depending on the category, there is a limit as to how many bids can a bidder win for each series.

  27. Can a bidder withdraw a bid?

  28. NO. Bidders are not allowed to withdraw bids during the bidding period.

  29. Will the bidder receive any notification during the bidding period?

  30. Yes, all activities involving the vehicle registration number being bid will be updated in the inbox. Users also have the option to receive notifications through the Whatsapp application.

  31. When will the official bid results be announced?

  32. Official bid results will be issued within 30 minutes after the bid ends depending on the transaction with the bank.

  33. How to know the official result of whether the bidder has won/failed the bid?

  34. The system administrator will send the official result of success or failure to all bidders via registered e-mail and in the MyMotorNumber account inbox.

  35. How is the bid payment method done?

  36. Bidders can only make bid payments through local credit cards and debit cards (Malaysian Issuer) only.

  37. Can bidders use more than one credit / debit card when making additional bids?

  38. Bidders may use more than one credit or debit card to make additional bids.

  39. What happens to the bid payment if the bidder’s bid is successful?

  40. If the bid is successful, the bid amount will be deducted from the bidder’s credit/debit card immediately.

  41. What happens to the bid amount if the bidder’s bid is unsuccessful?

  42. The bank will cancel the transaction and the amount will be re-credited to the bidder’s credit or debit card. No charges will apply.

  43. How long is the bid settlement period if the bidder’s bid is unsuccessful?

  44. Depending on the return policy of the credit card/debit card issuing bank, the bank will cancel the failed bid amount within 5 to 7 working days after the bid results are announced.

  45. If the bidder experiences credit card / debit card related problems such as transaction rejection and refund, who should the bidder refer to?

  46. If there is any problem involving a credit card / debit card, the bidder can directly contact the issuing bank of the credit card / debit card.

  47. What are the documents that need to be brought to JPJ for the vehicle registration process after a successful bid?

  48. The winner or any representative of the winner must bring the following documents to JPJ:

    1. Printout of the Successful Bid Letter sent by email
    2. Copy of Identification Card/Company Identification Identity
  49. What is the deadline for vehicle number registration?

  50. The final period for vehicle number registration is 12 months from the date of issuing the Offer Letter.

  51. What will happen if the registration of the vehicle number is not done within 12 months from the date of issuing the Offer Letter?

  52. Offer letter given will be considered lapsed and invalid. Payments that have been made will NOT be returned and will be government revenue.

  53. What happens if the bidder does not want to accept the winning registration number?

  54. The vehicle registration number won will be withdrawn without any notice after the expiry of the period. The payment made will NOT be returned and will be government revenue.

  55. Can the ownership of the winning vehicle number be transferred?

  56. The ownership for winning vehicle number can be transferred to the immediate family only, i.e. mother/father/husband/wife/siblings/children by submitting the birth certificate, marriage certificate and other related documents when registering the vehicle. Ownership transfer involving company/organization/cooperative is NOT allowed.

  57. Is it possible to apply for an extension of the registration period for the winning vehicle number?

  58. Application for extension of the registration period is NOT allowed.

  59. What to do if a bidder forgets the password to log in to the MyMotorNumber portal?

  60. Bidders can reset the password by selecting the registered email and follow the steps below:

    1. Click forgot password on the login screen
    2. Then enter the registered email address.
    3. Click the "Submit" button
    4. The message will be sent to the bidder’s registered email. Please follow the further instructions on the relevant screen.
